What is a brick stain? How is painting brick different than staining brick? What is the best way to change the color of masonry?

We're going to answer your questions about brick staining that you've always wondered. When you're ready, give us a call for the best brick staining services in the Dallas, Texas area.
Brick Staining | How does it work?
Not all brick stains are the same. We are expertly certified in the Masonry Cosmetics masonry staining system, and only use the very best brick staining product for your project.
Our innovative technology uses a proprietary color enhancement system that penetrates the surface of brick, giving it a vibrant, new look. Unlike other staining techniques, our stains chemically attach to the masonry pores, making the brick stain permanent. We guarantee that our stains are absorbent and will not seal the brick, fade, peel or crack. The original texture and tone of the brick is still there, just with a new color. For the highest quality masonry staining in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas area, choose the Art of Masonry.
Stain vs Paint | which is better?

Painted brick sits on the surface of masonry, essentially suffocating a building product that needs to breathe to thrive. When the masonry is sealed, moisture can get trapped, and will likely destroy your brick. Painted exterior brick may seem like the cheaper option upfront, but will require upkeep every 3-5 years, and will decrease your home value.
True masonry staining absorbs into the masonry, and becomes chemically bonded. It does not seal the masonry, and will not need any maintenance or upkeep. We are expertly certified using the Masonry Cosmetics brick staining system, the premier brick staining product and application process. The proof of permanence is shown in case studies of over 400 jobs that have lasted 10, 15, 20+ years in the field without fading, chipping or flaking.
Best brick stain | How do I know which staining company is best?

We've seen most of our brick stain competitors stating the same claims that we do - long-lasting, absorbent, etc. The problem is that they don't show you the proof that their jobs actually do last for more than 5-10 years. We've asked them time and time again for case studies showing longevity with no luck. We have done our own research however, and have found countless failed projects.
Our wish is that before you hire any stain company, you make sure that their claims are backed up by proof. View our proof through over 250 brick staining case studies that have lasted over 20 years without failing, using the Masonry Cosmetics staining system.
Can you only stain brick?

We can stain any porous masonry including brick, mortar, stone, manufactured stone, block, and more. To find out if your masonry is porous, apply a water test to your wall. If the masonry darkens when wet, the brick can be stained (for the most part).
How long does brick stain last?
As long as the masonry is porous, our brick staining product is essentially permanent. Since the stain absorbs into the brick pore structure, the chemical make up of the brick is altered for a new genetic make up to the brick.
The Masonry Cosmetics brick staining system has over 250 case studies of jobs lasting over 20 years without failure.
If your stained brick doesn't last a lifetime, we have you covered. The Art of Masonry offers a Lifetime Warranty on our masonry stains applied to porous masonry. We will fix a job if it shows signs of failure at any point, as long as it wasn't destroyed by a natural disaster. A brick stain should last forever, but if it doesn't for some reason, we have you covered.
What are your brick stain colors?
The beauty of our brick staining system is that it really does completely absorb into masonry - requiring no maintenance or upkeep. Because of this, our stains use color theory, and keep the natural tonal and texture variations of the original masonry. This means, the original brick color will play a significant role in what the end results will look like. Red pigment will look significantly different on white brick compared to if the original brick was dark brown.
We can create a unified look like a whitewash brick or a trendy black brick stain. Or we can apply different recipes to different areas of the brick for variations and added character. View some of our projects for a better understanding of our brick staining system
